Decorative Painting (Arts & Crafts for Home Decorating)
Published in Hardcover by Creative Publishing International (September, 1994)
Author: Home Decorating Institute
Average review score:

Best faux finishing book out there that I've seen yet!
It's not got a lot of pages, but there's a lot of good ideas crammed into this book! The photos are excellent, too! It'll get the wheels turning, that's for sure... :o) I've spent a lot of time at Home Depot and other stores looking through painting books looking for ideas, but I borrowed this book from a friend of mine, and now I've finally tracked it down for myself here on the Web. Can't wait to get my own copy and do the faux mosaic in the kitchen, some combing in a kid's room, and some plastic wrap in a bath room. Also some striping in my family room -- tone on tone though, using satin and flat with the same color (six inch stripes). Can't wait!

Diccionario español/inglés - inglés/español: Cortina Handy Dictionary
Published in Paperback by Henry Holt & Company, Inc. (October, 1991)
Author: Cortina Institute of Languages
Average review score:

Practical english-spanish dictionary for high school/college
Speaking several languages means owning a few board feet of dictionaries. In Spanish, the Cortina is my favorite concise dictionary. Its got a clean, easy to read typeface and a livey modern style. The gender of nouns is easily visible, right up front, before the definition. Word gender, (which doesn't exist in English) is key to speaking or spelling Spanish, and getting good grades in class. I own a variey of Spanish dictionaries of varying price and complexity. I bought the Cortina for my own kids, and reccomended it to my neighbors. It should be useful from Jr. High up to about second year college Spanish. It would last till the first literature class, when you might have to get something more complex.

Diego Rivera: A Retrospective
Published in Hardcover by W.W. Norton & Company (June, 1986)
Authors: Detroit Institute of Arts and Diego Rivera
Average review score:

Diego
Long out of print, this book has never been surpassed as "the complete Rivera." This volume illustrates Diego Rivera's life and work, from his early years at the Mexican Academy of San Carlos and studies in Spain; his subsequent eleven-year sojourn in Paris in the first part of this century; to his efforts to establish a truly national Mexican style in the murals for which he is most famous. Illustrations of Rivera's work are accompanied by essays by noted scholars who reevaluate his place in the history of modern art.
